Dial-up users users should review "How do I use TreeWalk on Dial-up?".
The current Official Release, add-ons, plug-ins, tools, previous versions and Betas are listed below. It is always suggested to upgrade your current edition of TreeWalk and companion software to their latest versions. Please review "How do I upgrade to a new version of TreeWalk?" for instructions (new users can consult "I'm new to TreeWalk DNS. How do I install it?").

 Installing TreeWalk

Some anti-virus products may incorrectly flag the "instsrv.exe" component used during installation as malware. This is commonly known as a false positive detection. TreeWalk DNS has never and will never be associated with any type of malware but despite this, you should turn your anti-virus or security suite OFF prior to installation. If you're still unsure, check the files with an online virus checker (like VirusTotal) before running them. Do not let your security software delete or quarantine any TreeWalk files. If you have problems with the install/uninstall procedures, ask in our forums for additional help or search the site and forums for "set your A-V to ignore".

"New, Intermediate and Advanced users of the FREE version of the TreeWalk Personal DNS Caching Server" are invited to join in discussions in the forums and place support questions in the ntc.config.discuss forum. Licensed users should continue to contact the TreeWalk site for private email support but are always encouraged to participate in general discussions or to use the ntc.support.questions forum provided for you. (And, if you've used TreeWalk DNS for a while and approve of all the dedication required to bring this program and it's plug-ins to life, please write a friendly line or two in the ntc.config.discuss forum to tell the World what you think!)

ORSC is currently undergoing massive network restructuring so we suggest using the ICANN slave-root package instead. Once the ORSC root has become stable again, we'll update the plug-in and place it here.
TreeWalk's sister site at ConFetch.com is brought to you by the TWDNS Crew. The "ConFetch" add-ons provide additional configurability to block known, nasty host domains by using popular, publicly available HOSTS files and other lists. ConFetch will "fetch" the lists and convert them into a ".conf" (configuration) file for maximum blacklisting with minimal entries. All you have to do is install it and run it while connected to the Internet! (Requires TreeWalk DNS "Hawk" version 8.21 [minimum] and selection of appropriate ConFetch filters for your system.)

BIND-LE

Windows 95, 98, ME *

BIND-LE 2.0 for Windows 95, 98 and Millennium Edition. Released 10/23/2002 (878KB). This version supports older Windows Operating Systems but due to OS restrictions the cache is only kept in RAM and is lost when the machine gets rebooted or if BIND-LE is stopped and restarted.

For these and other reasons we suggest that you periodically check here for updates or recent developments.

Registry tweak to boost Internet Explorer connections. By default, Windows IE sets 2 connections per server to websites. Tweak_connections.reg will set this to 8 connections per server (site) and means more items or simultaneous downloads will be possible. This will speed loading of images and improve overall browsing experience. Tweak_default.reg will reset the connections per server back to the Windows IE default of 2 for HTTP 1.1 (standard) and 4 for HTTP 1.0 (old).
